William (Bill) J. Nippes of Bastrop, TX, unexpectedly passed away on August 2nd, 2020 at home.
Bill was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on January, 25, 1948. He spent his childhood and adolescence in PA and moved to Anchorage, Alaska to attend Alaskan Methodist University. Bill graduated with a Bachelor's degree in marine biology. Bill spent his adulthood in Kodiak, Alaska, working as a Shellfish Biologist for the Fish & Game Department of Commercial Fisheries. After retiring in Alaska, Bill and his wife moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico for an amount of time, and eventually moved to Bastrop, TX to spend the rest of their days.
Bill loved to hunt, fish, and working with his hands. He did gunsmith work, and owned a machine shop, where he completed specialized projects for the community.
Bill is survived by his grandson Terry Diset, granddaughter Tara Diset, brother Gary Nippes, sister-in-law Sheila Hogan and husband Frank Hogan, sister-in-law Barbara Barnes, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Nippes, parents Earl Nippes and Mary Nippes, step-parents Effie Lee and Perry Farley, sister-in-law Vicki Burch and brother-in-law Bud Barnes.
Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 5, 2020, Old Red Rock Cemetery.
