Wayman H. Finch

Wayman Henry Finch, 74, of Elgin, Texas passed away on Wednesday July 18, 2018. He was born in Minerva, Texas on January 29, 1944.

Wayman attended schools in Taylor, Texas before joining the Navy in time to participate in the US Naval blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.  He worked for over thirty years at the Texas Department of Transportation and retired as a Systems Analyst.

He is survived by his wife Maria Elena (née Garcia), siblings Wayne (Kay) and Carolyn.  He leaves behind nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Waymie and many friends who will miss him.   Wayman was preceded in death by his only son Jason, his brother Horace “Doc” Finch and his parents Clayton H. Finch and Nola Bross Finch.

A celebration of Wayman’s life is scheduled for August 18, 2018 at Morelia’s in Elgin, Texas beginning at 2 pm.   Please join us and share your memories of this amazing, kind and generous human being.
