Sharon and Ray Johnson
Sharon Orsak Johnson and son, Victor Ray Johnson passed away in a tragic
accident on July 2, 2018. Sharon and Ray were the wife and son of Rev.
Sheldon Ray Johnson.
Sharon was born May 25, 1960 in Austin, Texas to Victor and Kaye Orsak who
preceded her in death. Sharon was 58 years old at the time of her passing. She
was a graduate of Marshall High School, attended Stephen F. Austin University,
had been employed by the Texas State Senate as an auditor and a calligrapher
of Senate composites. She retired from Texas Department of Human Services.
She was a gifted musician and role model who loved children of all ages.
Sharon married Sheldon on May 28, 1994 and recently celebrated 24 years of
marriage. She loved working alongside her husband, Sheldon, faithfully
supporting him in the ministry. She was dedicated to teaching children the love
of God. Sharon was devoted to her family and the Church which she faithfully
served. Sharon was active in the United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, and
the Emmaus movement. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and
make others laugh. She always had a joke ready and will be remembered as
“the general” who organized and kept everything moving smoothly.
Ray was born in Galveston, Texas on July 12, 2004. He was 13 years old at the
time of his passing. Ray had just completed the 7th grade at Goldthwaite
Middle School. He was a member of the Boy Scouts and MYF youth group.
Ray was active in sports and loved the outdoors. He loved helping his Uncle
Glenn on the ranch and riding the gator with his cousins, Kole, Jacob and Haley.
Ray’s goal in life was to become a game warden.
Sharon was an avid quilter and she, Ray and Sheldon had a family business of
‘antiquing’ and each had a booth at Elgin Antique Mall. Ray was a collector of
cordial glasses and known by many national antique glass dealers for his
appreciation and knowledge at such a young age. They touched many lives in
the churches and communities they served in Smithville, Brady, Kingsville,
Hallettsville, Mossy Grove, El Campo and Goldthwaite.
Sharon and Ray will be forever cherished and remembered by their loving
husband and father, Rev. Sheldon Ray Johnson, sister/aunt Sherryl “TK” Orsak,
and brother/uncle D’Wayne Orsak, D’Wayne’s wife Gloria and daughter Kendyl;
sister-in-law/aunt Cindy Krieg, husband Glenn and their family Kevin, Mona and
Kole Krieg and Lisa, Mark, Jacob and Haley Pottle and a host of dear family and
friends
A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 12, 2018, Manda Methodist Cemetery, 14799 Wells School Rd, Manor, TX 78653.
