Verna Mae Sander Schindler Buckner peacefully went to join our beloved Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 25, 2020, after 84 incredible years.
She was born September 22, 1935 in Paige, Texas.
Her love for her family had no limits. She had the most honest and rich love that was always felt - whether you were enjoying her amazing home cooked meals, as she offered one more "scoop" or were admiring her healthy plants with abundant blooms, you saw her love. As known as “Memaw” to all, she had a way of making desserts always with one extra ingredient, LOVE.
She loved drinking black coffee daily, then later playing dominoes or UNO with the ones she loved. Another enjoyment was spending time with their beloved weiner dog, the late Dachshund, Boomer.
Another great memory was the neighbor’s horse, “Mr. Ed”, would always be waiting at the fence for her to come out & feed him. And ducks in the nearby pond would be also waiting for her presence.
Some very happy years of her life were caring for and spending lots of time with young children in her home and teaching Sunday school at Woodcliff Baptist Church in Austin.
Verna Mae's simple and genuine heart always stayed a country girl and loved fishing and especially long country drives.
Even though she will be forever missed, we know where she is, in Heaven, and we will see her again.
She has now joined her late husband, James J. Buckner, and her beloved parents, Martha Emily Baasen Sander and Albert William Sander (Dub) for her life ever after.
Her devotion and love to family were the focus of her life, listed below.
6 children:
Frank Charles Schindler, Jr., Theresa Olivier, William Schindler, Jacqueline Hall, Jamie Allen, and Allen Buckner.
10 Grandchildren:

There are countless other family members and friends with whom she touched their lives forever.
No funeral services are planned at this time due to the COVID environment. Verna Mae will be laid to rest besides her loving husband at Adina Christian Church cemetery in Blue, Texas, if you would like to pay your respects.
Our family is deeply thankful for all the love she received in her life.
God Bless and be safe.
