Tina Savedra-Payne, age 53, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in Round Rock, Texas.
Tina was born in Taylor, Texas on September 21, 1969, to Eufemia (Henna) Salazar McNeil. Tina attended Taylor High School and graduated in 1988 and attended and graduated from ITT Technical Institute in Austin, Texas with her Associate Degree in Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology. Throughout the years of her career, Tina worked for Motorola, Applied Materials, AAI Textron, and, finally, EMIT, Inc, as an Electro-Mechanical Control Technician. Tina also worked at Home Depot as an Electrical and Plumbing Department Associate member. Always eager to learn new things, Tina pursued and completed her HVAC Training from the Texas State Technical College in September of 2019.
In addition to her work and career, Tina had a passion for helping her family and patrons of Home Depot with home and school projects. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies and cakes, fishing, going to country music concerts and dancing, watching Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys football games, and taking care of her chickens, pig, and dogs on the ranch with her husband, John, whom she married in September of 2020.
Tina was preceded in death by her father, Charlie McNeil of Taylor, Texas; and sister, Dolores Chavana. Tina is survived by her husband, Jonathan Payne of Granger, Texas; her son, Matthew Johnson Jr. of Taylor, Texas; her daughter, Taylor Johnson of Blacksburg, Virginia; her niece, Jonaé Savedra of Montgomery, Alabama; her mother, Henna McNeil of Taylor, Texas; her brothers, Johnny Savedra of San Diego, California, and Manuel Velasquez of Taylor, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Tina was a determined, thoughtful, and a dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 2, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taylor. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
