Timothy Lamoine Boaz was born in Lexington, Kentucky on February 10, 1959, to Gratton and Betty Boaz. He moved to Austin, Texas in 1967. He married Melissa Ann Gravell on July 8, 1983, and they have enjoyed 38 beautiful years together. He lost his battle with cancer on May 19, 2022, at the age of 63 in Austin, Texas.
He worked in the grocery industry for many years and most recently worked in sales for Borden Dairy up until he got ill.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He spent many weekends working at P.O.N.Y. softball tournaments with his wife and son. He loved watching sports, especially the Astros baseball, the Texans football, and golf. He loved reading books about history, putting together Legos, and enjoying afternoon naps.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa; daughters, Theran (Clay) Smallwood and Katie Boaz; his son, Evan Boaz; his grandchildren, Jace and Micah Smallwood; his mother, Betty Boaz; his brothers, Tom (Sloan) Boaz, Ted (Darlene) Boaz; sisters-in-law, Deborah Gravell, Robin (Kent) Burris; brother in-law, Bill (Jill) Gravell, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Gratton Boaz; and mother and father-in-law, Darleen and William (Bill) Gravell, Sr.
Special recognition to Tim’s medical team, Dr. Thiru Lakshman, Dr. Matthew Pearson, Dr. Allison Gorrebeeck, St. David’s North Austin Medical Center 3-North Care Team, and Hospice Austin.
A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, May 25th at 2:00 PM at Bethany United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas. We would be honored to have you join us in the celebration of his life.
Memorial funds can be donated to MD Anderson Cancer Center or Sports Matter in memory of Timothy Boaz.
