Sue Ellen Slauenwhite

Sue Ellen Garland Slauenwhite passed away May 20, 2023 in Elgin, Texas at the age of 78.

Susie was born to Thomas Adair Garland and Norma Lou (Buford) Garland on December 31, 1944 in Galveston, Texas.

Susie grew up in Galveston and absolutely loved the beach.  She moved to Austin, Texas as an adult and worked for Texas Instruments for 23 years and then IBM for 2 years before retirement. Her family meant everything to her and she loved every moment she spent with them.

She is survived by daughter, Sandra “Sandy” Slauenwhite, two sons, Mike Slauenwhite and Dennis “Randy” Slauenwhite Jr and his wife Heather. Grandkids, Brandon Slauenwhite, Shyanne Slauenwhite, Sean Slauenwhite, Thomas Slauenwhite, Ryan Slauenwhite, Jordan Moore, Ashley Rosario, Christina Blackstock and Dominic Monroe. Ten Great-Grandkids. Sisters, Mary Wynn and Sine Marshall and her husband, Johnny. Special former daughter-in-law, Suzanne Harris. And last but not least, her companion of 25 years, Jewels the bird.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Mike Garland; Grandkids, Marcus Slauenwhite and Norma Slauenwhite. Brother-in-law, Mike Wynn.

A Memorial Service for Susie will be held at a later date.

The family request that memorial donations be made to Disabled American Veterans (dav.org) or to the Slauenwhite family for unexpected death expenses.
