Shirley Lorraine Bates

Shirley Lorraine Bates (Winn) age 76 of Elgin passed away Tuesday January 14, 2020.

Shirley was born June 19, 1943 to Clifton Winn and Ann L. McClure, in San Antonio, Texas.  Shirley was a hair stylist for over 40 years.  Shirley enjoyed crafting, baking, and refurbishing old furniture.  Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joe Bates, who was the love of her life.

Shirley is survived by daughters; Charon Reney Clayton, Renee Lynn Radney and Barbara Codner, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Honoring Shirley’s wishes to be cremated, there will be no service.  A celebration of life remembrance will be held at a future date.
