Sherman Lynn Allen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherman Lynn Allen, who passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 70 in Temple, Texas.

Born on July 18, 1954, Sherman grew up in Austin, Texas, and graduated from Reagan High School in 1973. He spent 20 dedicated years working for Sears, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues through his diligence and character.

Sherman shared a 45-year marriage with his wife Beverly, a partnership filled with love and countless cherished memories. As a father to his son Justin and daughter Holly, Sherman instilled the values of curiosity, perseverance, and kindness, shaping their lives in immeasurable ways. He was a cherished brother to Marie Ethridge and her husband, Dennis, and treasured by numerous cousins, all of whom will hold his memory close.

Sherman was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Ella Allen, and his beloved sister, Linda Nelson.

Sherman found joy in life's details. Whether cheering on NHRA and NASCAR races, building intricate model cars, gardening, or tinkering with his latest project, he embraced every pursuit with passion and skill. His curiosity and hands-on approach left a legacy of ingenuity and inspiration.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at 1005 Red Town Rd, Elgin, TX 78621, where family and friends will gather to honor his incredible journey.
