Santiago Moya Jr. (Jim) 68, of Elgin, quietly entered into his eternal home, in the early morning of January 5, 2021, with family by his side.
Santiago was born on September 1, 1952 in Taylor, Texas. To Santiago Moya Sr. and Frances Moreno. He grew up with one brother and one sister. 15 years ago, he married the love of his life Debbie Moya.
Jim was a very hard dependable worker from the age of 15 years old. In 2006 he retired from Henna Chevrolet, then continued his career as an auto body technician and mechanic. Jim was truly a jack of all trades. Whether he was fixing or painting a vehicle, having backyard barbecues, or just being outside listening to music, you were sure to find him with a smile on his face. He cherished spending time with his family and loved playing with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, as well as many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Moya; his children Christopher Moya and wife Jessica, Santiago Moya III, Christy Moya, Carrie Hernandez, Diego Moya, Candice Diaz, Jordan Diaz and Estevan Cardiel; 16 Grandchildren and 1 Great-grandchild; Sister Janie Torres and husband Johnny. Brother Johnny Moreno and wife Nancy; brothers-in-law, Arthur Martinez and wife Vera, Roger Martinez, Rudy Martinez and wife Emily, Marty Martinez and wife Marlena; sisters-in-law, Hope Lopez, Ory Boney and husband Jeff, Sophie Hernandez and husband Perk; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jim was proceeded in death by his parents Santiago Moya Sr. and Frances Moreno; Grandparents Jesus and Juanita Moya, Eusebio and Guadalupe Rodriguez; in-laws Joe Sr. and Pauline Diaz; Daughter Areanna Cardiel.
Pallbearers will be Michael Ortiz, David Torres, Richard Ruiz, Richard Reyes, Ramiro Lopez Jr, Jonathan Gonzales, Paul Flores and Trae Anderson.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas. With the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 4:00pm. A Celebration of Mass Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin, Texas. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Taylor, Texas.
