Sandra (Penny) Louise Caraway, age 72 , entered into her eternal rest peacefully in her sleep at home in Bastrop, Texas on March 12, 2021.
Penny was born in Fort Myers, Florida to Mary Etta Mills Waters and Tillman Waters, but was also raised by a wonderful stepfather, Emmett Page in Houston, Texas. A hard-working woman, Penny worked for many years at Weikel’s Store and Bakery in La Grange, Texas before moving to Bastrop and taking up caregiving. She was a valued member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bastrop and held close to her community of members and friends. Always one who liked to have a good time and she truly enjoyed all that she could in her life. She loved her family and friends dearly.
Survived by her sons Harley and George York; daughter in law Teisha York; grandchildren Brandon, Kaylah, and Sandra York; great-grandchildren Angelina, Joshua Jr., Isabel, and Jeanette Valencia, and Leah and Devin Callaway; sisters Ann Tucker, Dora Baker, and Mary Delgado; brothers Bubba Waters and Curtis Waters; best friend Rose Taylor; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceded in death by her mother Mary Page; father Tillman Waters; Stepfather Emmett Page; husband Otto Caraway; and sister Beth Large.
Viewing will be held at Providence-Jones Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas at noon on Saturday March 20, 2021, followed by a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop at 1 p.m. and memorial service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bastrop at 2 p.m.
