Ronald "Ronnie" Fisher

Ronald “Ronnie” Ned Fisher, 68, of Elgin died June 28, 2018, surrounded by his family.  He was born April 17, 1950 in Elgin.

He is survived by his loving wife , Nancy Fisher, daughter Christie Hafley of Thorndale;  son Craig Fisher and his wife Cheryl, of El Campo.; and grandchildren Jordan and Madison Hafley, and Ashley and Addisyn Fisher.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Frances Fisher and brother Keith Fisher.

Ronnie graduated from Elgin High School in 1968.  He married Nancy Parker in November of that same year.  Ronnie and Nancy would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in November.  After graduating high school, Ronnie had a short racing career until the birth of Christie, their first child.  He started work for IBM in plant maintenance in Austin where he eventually retired after 35 years.  Ronnie  continued work for another 10 years with the City of Austin.  After retirement,  Ronnie and Nancy moved out of town to enjoy  peace and quite in the country.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday, July 1, 2018 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Ronnie's Life will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 2, 2018 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment to follow in the Elgin Cemetery.
