Robert “Konk” Renteria Jr., 68, of Elgin, Texas passed away [was called home] on October 14, 2021.
He was born on February 18, 1953, in Elgin, Texas to Robert and Ramona Renteria.
Robert graduated from Elgin High School in 1972 and went on to become a proud member of the IBEW Local 520 where he gained his license as a Master Electrician. He went on to work at IBM, Motorola and later retiring from Austin Community College.
Robert was a simple man. He enjoyed sunny days to go for a ride on his Harley, he enjoyed a good game of pool, but mostly he enjoyed spending time at home with his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his mother, Ramona Nunez Renteria; wife, Sulema M. Renteria; son, Roberto Emilio Renteria; stepdaughters and their spouses, Lesley and Adam Hidrogo and Lorretta and Manuel Posada; grandsons, Adrian, Gavino, Dominic, Cesar, Alejandro, Antonio and Victor; sisters and their spouses, Janie and Juan Guzman, Mary Helen Carey, Arlene and Daniel Mendez, and Patsy and Brent Johnson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Morris Renteria, and beloved brothers, Jesse Renteria and Gene Renteria
A visitation will be held for Robert on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 6:00PM-8:00PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin, Texas followed by the burial at Elgin Latin Cemetery.
