Robert Christopher Norris

Robert Christopher Norris, born in Elgin, Texas, on November 23, 1974, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2022.  He was only 48 years old.  He was raised in Elgin, the youngest of 9 children, and he spent the majority of his life in the Elgin area.

Chris graduated from Genesis High School in Elgin and over the course of his life worked in various areas of construction, woodworking, and mechanics.  While he struggled to find his place in life, he was hardworking with an exceptional skill as a mechanic and woodworker.  He had a keen ability to problem solve and fix things that were unique and challenging for others.

Ever since he was a little boy, Chris had an avid love for animals of all kinds and the outdoors.  He was a social person who enjoyed being with other people.  For a time, he lived in Wyoming where he met his previous wife and began his family.  His greatest joy was being a dad to his two children, Abigail Sue Norris and Isabelle Jane Norris, who still reside in Wyoming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Jasper Norris and Patricia Jane Norris.  He is survived by his daughters, Abigail Sue Norris and Isabelle Jane Norris, his ex-wife, Amanda Sue Norris, siblings, Johnny Mack Norris, Dorothy Sue Robertson, William Keith Norris, Debra Lynn Konczal, Charles Ray Norris, James Patrick Norris, Mary Elizabeth Voelker, and Billie Kathryn Mills, and numerous nieces, nephews and spouses and numerous friends.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions towards Chris’s two children for their education.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 6:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
