Richard Todd Mackay

Richard Todd MacKay, age 63, passed away at home in Elgin, Texas on September 18, 2022.

Todd was born on October 20, 1958, in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He was the third child of Patricia and Hugh MacKay and later Patricia and Harry Hallman. On January 20, 1987, he married Lee Sobolewski and had five children.

Todd was self-educated and mentored by several mechanics when he was young. After high school, he started working and never stopped until this past year, 2021, as his career had taken a toll on his body. He was a heavy line and general mechanic and worked on everything from cars to semi-trucks. His passion was helping people. He often found useful items and fixed them and passed them on to anyone in need. He loved his family dearly.

He is preceded in death by all his parents.

Todd is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lee MacKay, his children, Meagan, Nicholas and his wife, Yoli, Emily, Ben and his wife, Kara, Shelby and her fiancé, Tanner, whom Todd thought of as a son, two grandchildren, Miles and Noah, his sister, Sue Shambaugh in Houston, and nephews, Eric, Ryan, Justin, and niece, Cheyenne, his brother, Jack and his wife, Linda, and his niece, Summer in California.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM.
