Rebecca Anne Walker

July 18, 1942 — May 14, 2020

Rebecca Anne (Adams) Walker, 77, fell asleep in Jesus and entered eternal life with God in Heaven on May 14, 2020. She was born on July 18, 1942 to Elbert Devin and Hildred Hortense (Berlien) Adams in Lexington, Kentucky. She was reborn into God’s Kingdom through Holy Baptism in her youth and later confirmed her Christian faith in the Lutheran Church.

Anne was joined in Holy Matrimony to Haven Albert Walker on August 30, 1964 and moved to Texas in 1970. She and Haven adopted Sean Colin Walker in 1971 and she gave birth to Jonathan in 1981 and Tristan in 1983. Anne was a homemaker who enjoyed being a loving mother and was very proud of her children.

Anne was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elgin, where her faith was nourished by the Word of God and the Lord’s Supper.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Haven Albert Walker; her sons, Sean Colin Walker, Jonathan Justin Walker and wife Heather, and Tristan David Walker and wife Jessica; her grandsons, Brice Walker, Daniel Devin Walker, and Caleb Conri Walker; and her brothers, Kenneth Adams and Roger Adams.

Though we mourn because of Anne’s death, we take comfort from the truth that she was saved for everlasting resurrected life by God’s grace, through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. To Him be glory forever!

The family requests that memorial gifts be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, 801 W. 11th Street, Elgin, Texas 78621.

A Graveside Service was held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 17, 2020 Cook Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery.

Prayer:

Lord, let at last Thine angels come,

To Abram's bosom bear me home,

That I may die unfearing;

And in its narrow chamber keep

My body safe in peaceful sleep

Until Thy reappearing.

And then from death awaken me

That these mine eyes with joy may see,

O Son of God, Thy glorious face,

My Savior and my Fount of grace.

Lord Jesus Christ, My prayer attend, my prayer attend,

And I will praise Thee without end. Amen. [TLH 429:3]
