Rafael J. Jimenez, Jr.

Rafael J. Jimenez, Jr., age 81, of Austin, Texas, passed away from a short battle with cancer on May 17, 2021.

Ralph was born on December 16, 1939 in Rocksprings, Texas to Rafael J. Jimenez, Sr. and Santiaga Jimenez Jimenez. He attended Barber College in Midland, Texas in 1959. He considered being a barber as a passion rather than a job, so retirement was out of the questions.  Dad was a very loving patient man with all his children.

He is survived by his children, Gloria Jimenez Sexton from Manor, Texas, Cecilia J. Hernandez (Tomas M. Hernandez) of Corpus Christi, Texas. Rafael J. Jimenez, III of Georgetown, Texas, Sophia Jimenez Lyons (Ernest R. Lyons) of Round Rock, Texas, Joann Eitrheim Massey (David Wayne Massey, Jr.) of Austin, Texas, Cindy Nenniger of Austin, Texas, Eric A. Jimenez (Denise Jimenez) of Coupland, Texas, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and longtime girlfriend Gloria Reyes.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Rosemary Jimenez McConnell and four siblings.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 1:00 to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manor, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
