Rafael Christian Flores

Rafael Christian Flores ascended onto a higher realm on April 28, 2021 at the young age of 19. He was born on May 28, 2001, in Austin, Texas.

He was a loving son to Angelica Hernandez and Rafael Flores Juarez. He was an inspiration to all those around him. He graduated from EHS in 2019 alongside peers dear to him. Rafael worked as a very hardworking and talented barber. His hobbies included exploring his curiosities and living every moment as well as trying to maintain a healthy mind and body. Outside of his talent as a barber, we also recognized him for his music, creativity, personality, as well as his philosophy and spirituality.

Rafael is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Flores, his parents, stepparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings. He is also survived by his closest friends:  Juan, Xavier, Alex, Alexia, Delanie, and Josh. He was preceded in death by Ivan Flores, Maria De los Angeles Reina, and Jesus Chavez.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elgin. Interment will follow at Elgin Latin Cemetery.

Rafael’s favorite color was navy blue, and the family asks that those coming to pay their respects wear navy blue in honor of Rafael.
