Petra Gonzales

Petra G Gonzales was called to heaven on April 16, 2020. She was born on June 27, 1930 in Austin, Texas.

Petra was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved and cared for all her kids and grandchildren. Petra loved to spend hours outside planting plants, pulling weeds and whatever she could do outside she would do. She enjoyed watching Westerns and her Dallas Cowboys.

She is preceded in death by her son Juan Varela, grandson Juan “Bunga” Varela, Mother Carmen Garza Navarro, Father Arturo Gonzales, great grandson DaKoven Price. As well as her six lovely sisters; Michaela Gamboa, Jesusa Hernandez, Benita Rodriguez, Louisa Apolinar, Agapita Limon, and Dolores Coronado.

Petra is survived by her daughters Gloria Gonzalez and husband Demetrio and Sylvia Varela-Northrup and husband Choco, and son Michael Gallardo and wife Veronica. Eleven grandchildren; Silvia Huerta and husband Gilbert, Manuel Zuniga and wife Melissa, Luisa Torres, Demetrio “Boy” Gonzalez Jr., and wife Siara, Karina Gonzalez, Emilio Varela, Xadrian Gallardo, ZyAundre Gallardo, Kiran Gallardo, and Xavier Gallardo. Fourteen great-grandchildren; Alyssa Varela, Llysia Varela, Manuel Romo, Jacob Zuniga, Joshua Zuniga, Justin Zuniga, Mario Romo, Neomi Gonzalez, Khaliyah Price, Demetrio Gonzalez III, Nathalia Gonzalez, Nea Gonzalez, and Kamilah Martinez. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
