Peter Dominick Belle

Peter Dominick Belle was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 10, 1929 and was baptized on February 26, 1930.

Pete passed away on August 9, 2017 at the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple.

Pete served in the US Army from 1951-1953. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. Pete was also active in the Elgin Optimist Club and coached with the Elgin Little League. In 1995 Pete retired from Elgin Butler Brick/Acme Brick where he had worked as a driver and dispatcher.

Pete is survived by his wife of 64 years, Welma Koether Belle; our children Joe (wife Deborah, Anna and Justin), Beverly (husband Joe), David (wife Kay, and children Lanie, Danielle and Stephen, James (wife Lesley), Stephen (wife Melanie, children Samantha and Oliva) and their families; sister Antoinette Barone; brother Russ Belle; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenneth and Delores Koether; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, August 13, 2017, St. Peters Lutheran Church in Elgin with a Celebration of Pete’s Life Beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery,
