Ora Lae Scott Stifflemire

Ora was born to Sam and Ida Scott on December 5 ^th , 1935 in Thornton, TX. She left this world at age 84 on June 14, 2020 in Austin, TX to be with her heavenly father and reunited with the love of her life, Johnny C. Stifflemire.  Ora grew up in Elgin, TX where she met, fell hopelessly in love and married Johnny on 2-4-1953.  They made their home in Blue, TX where four sons were born to them.  Ora enjoyed being a farmer’s wife and Sunday School Director at the Adina Christian Church.  At age 47, Johnny was called home on July 3, 1983 leaving her with a broken heart and having to face one day a time.  Ora took a job as a cook at Lexington ISD where she was able to use her great kitchen skills and her love for children. She worked there for many years until her retirement.

Ora is survived by her four sons and their wives, Gary and Madeline Stifflemire of Blue, TX, Flint and JoAnn Stifflemire of Blue, TX, Keith and Viki Stifflemire of Onalaska,TX and Kevin and Debra Stifflemire of Knippa, TX.  She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, that she claimed were so much fun that she should have had them first…Hilary Stifflemire Keeton, Casey Tabb and wife, Shadon, Marcy Stifflemire, Dustin Stifflemire and wife, Nikki, Shane Stifflemire, Wade Johns and wife Hope, Kelbie Stifflemire and Katey, Mason Stifflemire, and Trevor Stifflemire. She was blessed with 7 great grandchildren, Ellyse and Ian Tabb, Kimber Stifflemire, Jett and Reece Johns, Alexis Lawless and the newest addition, Oaklyn John Stifflemire arrived in April.

Ora was preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Ida Scott, her sisters, Sammie Tabor, Dora Parks, and her brother, Buddy Sam Scott.

Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North, Elgin, TX 78621.  (512) 281-2340

Services will be conducted Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 10:00am at the Adina Christian Church, 5892 CR 309, Lexington, TX 78947.   Burial at Adina Cemetery next to church.
