Nancy Jo Reiger was born March 6, 1936 in Austin Texas, to Corene Novella Lindsey Rieger and Walter Henry Rieger. She had one brother Leslie Warren Rieger. She was married and devoted to Collie Murray for 48 years…. In Nancy’s younger years she worked in retail for Bealls Department store in Austin, Texas while raising her children, Johnny and Kay. Later she got a job with the Health Department, in the Purchasing and Acquisitions Division. After ten years, Nancy retired. She was an active member of the VFW Post 8787. She moved to Nixon, Texas with her husband, Collie Murray. They built a home where she cooked and entertained many dinners for family and friends. She was on the Hospital Board for Gonzales County for many years and was very active in the First Baptist Church in Nixon. She was also a member of the American Legion where she participated in helping with events. The next cycle of life took Nancy and Collie to Bastrop, Texas to be closer to their beloved family. She was an active member of the Senior Citizen Organization in Bastrop, Texas.
The group she loved as her children are Johnny Howard Johnson, Randy Joe Murray (Pamela Murray), Tracie Murray Miller (Howard Miller), Terry Lynn Murray (Laura Murray), Tammie Murray Branson (Alan Branson), Kay Lynn Johnson (Gayle Moir)
She enjoyed her growing family…

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., at Cook Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville, TX.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bastrop County Animal Shelter, 589 Cool Water Drive, Bastrop, Texas 78602
