Michael Lawson Balch age 63 of Elgin Passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017.
He was born in Odessa, Texas, to his parents, Jo Ann and Lawson Balch (deceased). They soon moved to Austin as they wanted to be near their ranch outside of Elgin (Formerly known as Hog Eye). Mike was very talented. A welder by trade, and could build anything.
Mike was stricken with stage 4 lung cancer. We called our family together for a family meeting. Decisions were made and Mike moved in with his brother, Steve Balch, in Elgin. At first Mike made many trips to Scott and White Hospital in Temple with his caregiver, his step-father, Jack Wilson. Later, Carl Nall, his brother-in-law, and Gloria Sundeen and Dale Kessel of Elgin assisted him. They were his angels.
Mike talked the talk, walk the walk right into Heaven. He was a strong minded man, he always did it his way.
Mike is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Wilson and step-father Jack. Brother Steve Balch of Elgin, and sister Amy Nall and husband Carl of Austin. Two Nieces Bre Auna Krikman of Austin and Marissa Dosser and husband Justin of Dallas. One nephew, Weston Balch and wife Charity of San Antonio. Two great-nephews Wyatt Lee Balch of San Antonio and Lawson Thomas Dosser of Dallas. One uncle, Marsell Craig and wife Connie of Jarrell. Also many cousins and friends from all over.
