Marvin Wayne Alexander, 86, of Elgin, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025. He was born on October 24, 1938, in Belton, Texas, to Wilford Alexander and Alma Johnson. Marvin lived a full and dedicated life, leaving behind cherished memories for his family and friends.
A proud graduate of Belton High School, Marvin was known for his passion for football, playing on the high school team. His love for serving his country led him to join the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he honorably served.
Marvin spent his entire career as a butcher, working alongside his brother Wilford. Together, they made a lasting impact in the local community through their hard work and commitment. A true Texas man, Marvin was a devoted fan of the Longhorns, and enjoyed spending his free time fishing, hunting, and camping. He was also known for his love of playing dominoes and hosting oatmeal parties with his great grandchildren, which brought great joy to his heart.
Marvin was deeply patriotic, always proud of his country and his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and his devotion to his family was evident in everything he did.
Marvin is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Alexander; his daughter, Amanda Alexander, and her fiancé, James Ledesma; his brother, Wilford Alexander; four grandchildren, Michael, Laura, Jerry III, and Kenneth; and five great-grandchildren, Brentley, Braxan, Hayden, Nevaeh, and Kevin Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as other loved ones. His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00AM, Monday February 10, 2025, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 HWY 95 N, Elgin Texas 78621. A celebration of Marvin's life will begin 11:00AM, Monday February 10, 2025, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
Marvin’s legacy of love, laughter, and service will live on through the many people he touched. He will be deeply missed.
