Marianne Lemming

Marianne Henriette Lemming, 76, of McDade, Texas went to be with The Lord on Monday, July 24, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

Marianne was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on July 12, 1941 to parents Johannes Paul Joseph and Hedwig Elisabeth Zimmermann.  Marianne and her family immigrated to the United States in 1971 and she proudly became a United States citizen in December of 1993.

Marianne was a devoted and loving mother.  She was very proud of her family and was excited to become “Omi” to her 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Marianne loved holidays and family gatherings; any chance to spend time with her loving family was important to her.  She enjoyed cooking large meals for loved ones and would often spend hours cooking and preparing for family get-togethers. Marianne especially loved making her famous German dishes that reminded her of her childhood in Germany.

Marianne also loved spending time sharing stories with her nurses, who she cared about dearly.

Marianne was preceded in death by her parents, Johannes (Hans) and Hedwig Zimmermann; and sister Karin Richardson.

Survived by children Carola and husband Ray Turnipseed, Helmet Lemming, Claudia and husband Jerry Turnipseed, Harry and wife Michelle Lemming; grandchildren Joshua, Jason, Amanda and husband David, Sonia and husband Kyle, Khrystal, Cody, Haley, Amber, Jordan, and Stone; great grandchildren McKenna, Madasyn, Levi and Kaimyn; and her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers: Joshua Turnipseed, Jason Turnipseed, Stone Lemming, Cody Turnipseed, Kyle Kelly, David Myers, Jason Dube, Amber Turnipseed.

A Visitation will be held 9:00 A.M. Friday, July 28, 2017 with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 10:00 A.M., Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment to follow at McDade Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marianne to the Kindred Gentiva Hospice Foundation.
