Marcos Alan Heras

July 28, 1978 — August 3, 2021

Marcos Alan Heras passed away peacefully on August 3, 2021, at his home in Hutto, Texas after a nine-year battle with brain cancer.

He was born 43 years ago in Portland, Oregon and grew up in nearby Tigard. He and his family spent many weekends and summer vacations on the Oregon coast at Pacific City.

He earned an Associate of Arts degree from Central Oregon Community College in Bend and an Associate of Recording Arts from Full Sail in Winter Park, Florida.

Afterwards Marcos moved to Austin, Texas and worked as a videographer and DJ, a labor of love for him. He was married to Linsey Ohman for ten years and they had two children.

Marcos enjoyed a multitude of activities including snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding, fishing, playing drums, golfing, cooking, gardening, learning Spanish and studying the Bible. In recent years Marcos was an active member of Point of Grace Lutheran Church.

Marcos is described by others as a quiet, easygoing fellow who was well liked by many. His sense of humor was often on display, and it's been said that he was "easy to love". He was a genuine and sincere person, calm and unassuming.

He is survived by his sons, Benjamin and Charlie; his parents, Miguel and Elaine of Tigard, OR; his brother Miguel (Mike) of Juneau, AK; and his sister, Elisa Danen of Gardnerville, NV.

A service for Marcos will be held at Point of Grace Church at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 6th.
