Malcolm Warren Richburg

01/21/1935 – 04/16/2018

Warren was born in Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, to Minnie Crumley Richburg and Frank M. Richburg. He attended Govalle Elementary, Allen Junior High, Austin High and Austin Community College.

He met his wife, Shirley, at the Church of Christ on East 2 nd Street, Austin. They were married at a very early age and would have celebrated their 66 th anniversary on April 25 th . He was her hero and she was his rock. They married early because he had enlisted in the US Navy and would soon be shipping out to Korea.

To this marriage there were born two children, Virginia Leilani (Lani) and Michael Warren. They also had the pleasure of raising their oldest granddaughter, Kimberly Michele Mertz Henze.

Warren and Shirley loved to travel. Before their health began to cause them problems, they were able to visit 49 states never making it to Alaska. When it became difficult to travel by car they started cruising and made five cruises out of Galveston. Oh, what fun he had meeting all of the fine people on these travels. He was truly a people person. He could go to Walmart or H-E-B to purchase five items and spend three hours visiting with the other shoppers.

Warren was predeceased by his father, Frank M. Richburg, his in-laws Odell & Ollie McDonald, his daughter Lani Green, his grandson Matthew Warren Richburg, and nephew Greg Spaw.

Left to grieve his passing are his wife Shirley Richburg, his mother, Minnie Richburg of Lockhart; sister Mary Tausch of Lytton Springs; son & daughter-in-law, Mike & Janice Richburg of LaPorte; his son-in-law, Marvin Green & Anette of New Braunfels; his grandchildren: Kim & Edward Henze of Elgin, Brittany & Zach Richburg of LaPorte, Anna Richburg & fiancé Will Brown of Kingsville,  Mackenzie & Caise Richburg of Tyler,  and  Emma Richurg of Lubbock; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Daphne, Odie and Aedan Henze of Elgin; plus a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews that he adored. Warren was so proud of and loved Shirley’s siblings: Darryl and Ann McDonald of Hearne, and Steve and Patsy Spaw of Elgin.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 in the evening of Sunday, April 22 nd at the Providence-Jones Funeral Home at 604 Hwy 95, Elgin, Texas. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 23 rd at 1:00 pm at the same location. Interment will follow immediately at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Elgin, Texas.
