Luther Doyle Henry was born on April 7, 1936 and was the son to Katie and Allen Ashcraft, Sister Linda Hooper, and Brother Michael Ashcraft. Luther retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States army in 1973 and was awarded the following medals and ribbons:

Bronze Star medal 1967& 1972
Commendation medal 1967 and 1973
Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm 1967
Meritorious Service medal 1970
Aircraft crewman badge 1970
Presidential certification of appreciation 1973
Certification of Retirement 1973
Good conduct medal with silver loop
Worked for 20 years with Telecommunication where he was the Employee of the Month at TSI from August 1982 and June 1982
The last 20 years he traveled the world with the woman of his dreams Helena Ullrich. He loved dancing, fishing, bowling, and working in the yard. He will be missed. He was a very dedicated Soldier.
Luther is preceded in death by both his parents.
He is survived by his daughters Doylene Thornton, Debra Hilligas, and Joanne Palmer, sons Richard Henry, and Gerald Henry, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Luther’s Life will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 29, 2018 Providence-jones Family Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Youngs Prairie cemetery.
