Lenny Knipp passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, March 1, 2024, with her daughter by her side. She was born in Houston on April 8, 1944, to Henry Clay and Frances Olean (Gowan) Ingram. Lenny worked as a bookkeeper when she met Foy Knipp, they married on November 17, 1975, and were married 42 years. Seeking a break from city life, they settled on 40 acres near Elgin, where they tended to cows, horses, chickens, and ran a business selling tractors and equipment. Following her retirement from bookkeeping, Lenny assisted with taxes at H&R Block. When managing the ranch became too challenging, Foy and Lenny transitioned to assisted living, where Lenny found joy in arts and crafts, balloon volleyball, bean bag baseball, going to the beauty shop, and various activities. She cherished dinners with her close-knit group of friends, often engaging in spirited card games like Kings in the Corner and SkipBo. In her leisure time, she loved working puzzles and word search games. Lenny was always armed with a ready smile and a witty joke. She made many friends and touched many lives.
Lenny is survived by her daughter, Traci Knipp; daughter-in-law, Nancy Knipp; niece, Teresa Phillips and her husband, Tom; nephew, Paul Wesley Kilsby Jr.; great nephew, Tommy Phillips, and his wife, Taylor; and great nephew, Trey Kilsby, and his wife, Stephanie. She is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
Lenny was preceded in death by her parents, sister Olean Kilsby, twin brother, Lonny Ingram, husband Foy Knipp and brother-in-law Bill Knipp.
