Karen Denise Samudio

Karen Denise Samudio, age 54, was born on March 30, 1970.

After a long battle with cancer, Karen passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, with her family lovingly by her side.

Karen was a beautiful person inside and out; she was private and quiet but also very witty and fun. She loved walking on the beach looking for seashells, gardening, and hanging out with family and friends. Her life's work of over 25 years was in the medical healthcare field. She will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death is her father, Matias Samudio, mother, Elvira Lopez Samudio, infant sister, Mary Samudio, brother-in-law,  Gerard Cruz, all from the city of Manor, and Little Boy (her cat of 18 years).

Survived by her is her life partner, Jeff Babin, of 31 years and their kids (cats), Sonny, Buddy and Thunderrunt of Elgin; sisters, Patricia Sosa (Benny) and Donna Cruz; five nieces, Elena, Desiree (James), Ninna (Khalio), Carmella (Christian), and Amy; one nephew, Nathan; five great nephews, Jaquinn, James Jr., Khai, Everett, and Ethan; four great nieces, Marissa, Ellyana, Nylah, and Evelyn; and numerous family members and friends.

Karen has always given all her love and support in everything they do.

May she rest in Eternal Peace.
