Juan Trevino Colmenero

May 6, 1947 — May 6, 2021

Juan Colmenero Sr. was born on May 6 th , 1947 in Mathis TX, to Eduardo and Conrada (Trevino) Colmenero.

It was evident that Juan was going to be a living testament to the value of hard work. At the young age of 8, he started working in the cotton and onion fields to help bring money into his household. Growing up helping in his father’s store, he quickly learned the retail business and customer service. He ultimately became an owner of an East Austin convenience store where he was well known by many. His hard work and dedication to his family, enabled him to be the great provider that everyone came to respect and love. When Juan retired in 2001, he wasn't one to relax, always wanting to be on the move, whether it was working on projects at home, helping others or giving back to the church. His word was like a certified letter that you could trust in him standing by. His legacy will continue to live through those who were inspired by him.

While celebrating his 74 th birthday on Thursday May 6 th , 2021 the hardworking and loving man who we all loved, gently passed away at home in his sleep.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 50 yrs. Olga Colmenero, his sons Johnny Colmenero Jr. (spouse Annette, children Audrey, Laura, Alex, Aaliyah, grandchildren Micah, Cayden, Oliva) and Eddie Colmenero (spouse Michelle, children John, Chris), his sisters Gloria Morales and Mary Yguado and his brothers Chris Colmenero and Edward Colmenero Jr. .

He was preceded in death by his parents Eduardo and Conrada, as well as his siblings Rudy Rucobo, Basilia Ortiz and Tina Colmenero.

His family would like to send Thanks to the countless doctors and nurses who showed Juan so much love and care during his time in need.
