Josephine Jonse Lundgren

January 1, 1932 — March 8, 2021

Josephine Jonse Lundgren was called home by our Heavenly Father on March 8, 2021.

Josephine (Fina) was born on January 1, 1932 to Nellie and Conrado Jonse Sr. Josephine’s life centered on hard work and love of family and friends. She worked for many years and retired from Travis State School in Austin.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Neal Lundgren and later by her companion of many years Andrew Pineda as well as her parents Nellie and Conrado Jonse, Sr., brothers Herman, Paul, Conrado, Fernando, and Sam Jonse, sisters Lupe Tamez, Sara Carmona, and Susan Renteria.

Josephine is survived by her brothers Tom Jonse (Mary), John Jonse (Rita), and Rudolph Jonse (Julia); sisters-in law Lacadia Jonse and Virginia Jonse.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  In her last year’s Josephine was in ill health and we are especially grateful for the compassionate care given by Teresa Garcia, Mary, and Adolph Tamez.

Pallbearers are Herman Jonse, Gilbert Jonse, David Jonse, Adolph Tamez, Kirk Jonse, and Jay Vincent Jonse.   Honorary Pallbearer is Conrad Jonathan Jonse.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm on Friday March 12, 2021 at Providence Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North, Elgin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 302 West 11 th Street, Elgin, Texas.

Interment will follow at the Elgin Latin Cemetery at 901 W Second Street, Elgin, Texas.

Due to the COV-19 Pandemic there will be no celebration after the services.
