Jose Antonio "Tony" Hernandez

Jose Antonio "Tony" Hernandez, 61, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on December 15, 2024. He was born on February 28, 1963, in Elgin, Texas, to Ralph R. Hernandez Sr. and Juanita Flores Hernandez.

Tony graduated from Elgin High School. He was known for his love of football, fishing, and barbecuing for his family and friends, where everyone could enjoy good food and laughter. He had a great sense of humor and found comfort in watching classic shows like The Three Stooges, Gunsmoke, and Sanford and Son.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph R. Hernandez Sr. and Juanita Flores Hernandez; his daughter, Amanda Hernandez; nephew Manuel Martinez and his niece, Chloe Mendez.

Tony is survived by his daughters, Rosa Hernandez and Erica Fisher; his sisters, Corine Hernandez, Aurora "Lola" Castillo, Linda Gamez, and Gloria Paez; his brother, Ralph Hernandez Jr.; and his grandchildren, Breanna, Valerie, Natalie, Julian, Tony Jr., Andrew, and Bella. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 9:00AM - 11:30 AM on Friday December 20,2024, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the visitation on Friday, a Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest in the Elgin Latin Cemetery
