Johnny Wilkins

Johnny Wilkins Jr, 88, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.  He was born to Johnny Sr and Myrtle Octavia (Lann) Wilkins on November 13, 1930 in Buda, Texas.

Johnny lost his father to tuberculosis at the age of four,  his mother then married Herman Bauder.  Johnny was the oldest of eight siblings, Pete Wilkins (d), Pauline Wilkins Layton (d), Jean Wilkins, Sam Bauder,  Julia Bauder Wilson, Peggy Bauder Price and William C. Bauder (Shirley).

Johnny is survived by his wife Edith Virginia (Cox ) Wilkins,  two sons, Johnny Wilkins, III and wife, Laura of Georgetown, Tx, Tommy Ray Wilkins and wife, Linda of Elgin, Tx and one daughter Nancy Kay Wilkins and partner, Damon McVay of Elgin, Tx, grandchildren Garrett Wilkins, Amanda Wilkins Webb (Andrew), Dr. Kaitlyn Wilkins Behrend, DVM (Cameron), Alyssa Wilkins and Adelyn Hibbs Cribbs (Anthony).  Great-Grandchildren Waylon Webb, Kylie, Konnor & Laramie (d) Cribbs. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that he loved.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas. Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday,  January 18, 2019 at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, Texas with Pastor David Roth of Grace Lutheran Church of Elgin, Texas officiating.

The family would like to thank the Caregivers at University Village Memory Care and Assisted Living and Valerian Hospice for their loving care of Johnny during his stay there.
