Jody Lynn Oliver

Jody Lynn Oliver, passed away at his home in Elgin during the morning hours of September 2, 2021. He was 61 years old. Jody was born on September 16, 1959, in Pleasanton, Texas to Delno (Butch) Oliver and Dorothy Martin who later moved to Bastrop, Texas in 1970 where Jody attended and graduated from Bastrop High School in 1978.

After graduation, Jody worked for LCRA for 35 years. He started in the Boiler/Chillers department and later transitioned to Computer/Telephony for the last 19 years of his career before retiring in February 2014.

Jody and Janna spent 22 wonderful years together.  Jody is survived by his wife, Janna Oliver, his son Micah Oliver, spouse Leah, their children, Caden and Duke, step-daughter Brandi Duncan, spouse, London, their children, Maci and Wyatt, Father Delno (Butch) Oliver, sister Rebecca Oliver, mother-in-law Nancy Dossing, spouse Peter, brother-in-law Larry Tuggle, spouse Deana and their children Ellie and Tyler.  Jody is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Martin Oliver, Barbee and Louise Oliver (paternal grandparents) and JB and Margaret Martin (maternal grandparents).

Jody was a devout Baptist. Additionally, Jody was also a dedicated Karate Instructor and loved working with and teaching his students. He started in Karate in 1996 and earned a fourth-degree black belt. Jody’s last employment for five years was with the Elgin ISD. The kids were always a challenge, but Jody endured—the school district will miss him!

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, in Elgin, Texas
