Jimmy S.V. Gutierrez

Jimmy SV Gutierrez of Alice, Texas was called home peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the age of 89, in his home, with his caregiver and wife at his side.

He was born on February 12, 1930 to immigrant parents, Santiago Saldivar Gutierrez and Guadalupe Villarreal. Jimmy served his church and family faithfully throughout his life. He will be remembered fondly for his exceptional stories, outstanding work ethic, friendly personality, and relentlessly youthful disposition; not to mention his ability to cut a rug, even at 88 years old.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vera; his children Martin (Deborah) Gutierrez, Glory Ramsey, Jimmy Ramsey, Jason Gutierrez Sr., Veronica (Jim) Warnock, Valentina (Kyle) Cravens, Viola (Ricardo) Soto, Joseph (Angelina) Gutierrez; his 18 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 11 great- grandchildren; his siblings Gertrude, Jose, Aurora, Gregorio, Mercedes, and Valdemar; and many nieces, nephew, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Amanda; his half-sister Elva; his brothers and sisters-in-law.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 140 Tahitian Dr. in Bastrop on Thursday, April 25. The family will receive family and friends for viewing at noon. Funeral service will begin at 2 pm.
