Jimmy M Copeland

April 10, 1940 — April 3, 2020

Jimmy Mack Copeland, passed peacefully in his sleep and went on to his eternal life in Heaven on April 3rd, 7 days before his 80th birthday. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Brenda Hibbs Copeland who he had been married to 53 years when she passed away in 2014. Daddy often talked about her and that he would be faithful until death and was so looking forward to seeing her again.

Jimmy was born April 10, 1940 to Rueben “Mack” and Myrtle Copeland in Lockhart, TX. His parents have preceded him in death. He had 11 siblings of which 3 have survived him, Alta “Bunky” Copeland, Dorothy Reed, and Sue Litton.

He is survived in death by his daughter and her 3 children. He has lived with Jana, Wyatt, and Haylee Diebel for the last 5 years and they were a close nit family. He tried to make every sports game Haylee and Wyatt ever had till this past year when he just couldn’t make them all. And Wyatt was his favorite fishing buddy. The kids would do anything that he wanted out of pure respect and gratitude. And His oldest Granddaughter who he has been very close to since she was born, Mycha Ashlee Copeland Van Allen, her husband Adam and the 2 precious great grand children Mila Rose and James, that he adored.

He is also survived by a daughter Wendy and by Cliff and his wife Becky and 3 grandchildren Candi, Cayce, and Carley and a whole host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Jimmy enjoyed Fishing and hunting as a hobby all his life. He worked hard from the time he was 10 years old. He owned many businesses including Ranching, HVAC, Building houses, and doing Sub contract work for TX Dept of Transportation counting traffic. He was also the Bastrop County Judge from 1987-1990.

His greatest accomplishments though were those he brought to Christ, those he helped, those he gave chances to to be better and move forward. He had a Heart that was wise and compassionate, the only kind you find from someone who has spent their life following Christ Jesus. Walking the walk and getting closer to the Lord daily. What an example he has left us all.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 2, 2020 Bastrop County Court House Gazebo. If you desire, Flowers and memorials can be sent to the Copeland-Diebel family at: 1166 Old Pin Oak Rd., Unit B, Paige, TX 78659
