Jeffrey Brian Sullivan

Jeffrey Brian Sullivan, age 64, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away March 28, 2022 at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, his wife at his side.

Jeff was born July 28, 1957 in Lancaster, Ohio.  He was a son of the late Richard and Betty Sullivan.

Upon his 1975 graduation from Lancaster High School, Jeff joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Turkey and received an honorable discharge.

On March 8, 1982, Jeff married the former Sally Marie Samaripa.  They first met at a party at Sally Marie’s cousin’s house in Dallas. It was truly love at first sight.  As they were leaving the party, Jeff asked Sally Marie to marry him.

One Labor Day, while visiting Sally Marie’s parents in her hometown of Manor, Jeff decided he would design and build the city’s first cable system.  In 1988, Jeff and Sally Marie sold Manor Cable Company and moved to Bastrop. They also built and sold Pine Forest Cablevision in Bastrop to Time Warner.   They lived in Bastrop for nineteen years.  During that time, they opened Palo Alto Communications.  As contractors, they installed fiber optics throughout the Austin area.

In 2007, Jeff and Sally Marie moved to Lexington, Texas and opened Reveille Broadband. They sold the company in 2017, moved back to Bastrop, and retired. Jeff and Sally Marie worked side-by-side in the cable business for thirty years. Through challenges and joys, they were blessed with forty years of marriage. Jeff loved to hunt, camp, loved to make leather goods, and knives, he was a great cook and loved to make jelly every Christmas to gift to his family and friends.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Sally Marie (Samaripa) Sullivan, his siblings, Rick Sullivan (Emily), Alan Sullivan (Becky), Diane Mertens (Randy), Nancy Stubbs (Steve) and Debby Allen (Doug), and many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 12:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 PM at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas. A reception will follow at The Colony Center, 368 Stephen F. Austin Blvd, Bastrop, Texas 78602.
