Jeffrey Lee Mathis

Jeffrey Lee Mathis, age 46 of Elgin passed away on Sunday, March 24 ^th , 2019.

Jeff was born on January 31, 1973 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas.  He moved to Elgin, Texas in 1986 and graduated from Elgin High School in 1991.   Jeff worked his entire career at Austin Hi-Tech Restoration as an Estimator.  Jeff also was an ordained minister and spent many years as a youth pastor at several churches including Family Worship Center in Elgin, Texas.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Christie and children Kayla Hanover, Justin and Leigh Mathis; his parents, Pat and Clarence Mathis; his brother and sister in law, John and Sheila Mathis of Cleveland, TN; niece Christina Arnwine (Caleb), nephew Matthew Mathis.

Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he loved his Aggies and Red Sox baseball.  He will be remembered for always being a stickler for the rules, but he had a heart for coaching kids and spent many years volunteering as a coach and member of the board at Elgin Little League as well as Pop Warner and EYFL football.

A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, March 27th, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Jeff's Life will be held 10:00 AM Thursday March 28th, Family Worship Center. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elgin Little League.
