James Thomas Horn, Sr.

James Thomas Horn, Sr., age 61, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on July 31, 2022. He was born on October 10, 1960, in Dallas, Texas to Royce and Doris (Barnes) Horn.

James attended Bastrop High School and later enlisted in the Marine Corps. He worked in the oil field and later developed a passion in masonry. James really enjoyed going fishing and kicking back with family and friends. He loved to take rides and listen to old county music with good company while having a few cold ones. And, boy, could he make a mean meatloaf. His pride and joy will always be his son, Jamie, and watching him become an amazing father and giving him the gift of being a grandpa which he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Royce and Doris (Barnes) Horn, and his sister, Teresa Hunt.

James is survived by his son, James Thomas Horn, Jr. and wife, Martha Villasenor Horn, five amazing grandchildren, Tina Frausto, Alexa Villasenor, Johanna Skidmore, Sofia Horn, and Lawrence Thomas Horn, one precious great-grandchild, Dyami Frausto, two wonderful little sisters, Kimberlee Ervin, Shirley Lowe, and one knuckle headed baby brother, Russell Horn, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. He couldn’t be more proud of his family and loved them all.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 9:00 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Bastrop County.
