James "Jim" Harry Cazares

James “Jim” Harry Cazares, age 69, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on December 18, 2021.

Jim was born om January 27, 1952, in California to Gilbert “Gil” Frank and Ruth Cazares. He moved to the Elgin community in 1993 and lived for a time with his childhood friend, Jack E. Rehm. The two were best pals and enjoyed many good times together from Indiana to Texas.

He chose to remain in Elgin and was a respected and loved member of the community. He served with the City of Elgin beginning in 1999, received multiple honors, and was the City Inspector of Code Enforcement at his retirement in 2016.

Jim was a local artist who worked in a variety of mediums as well as an accomplished musician. He enjoyed artistic masterpieces, old cars, and philosophy. He was a good neighbor with a great sense of humor and kind concern for others. He will be missed by his family and his friends here in our community.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his two sons, John Cazares and James Aaron Cazares, sisters, Patricia “Patty” Lou Roberts, Nancy Jo King, Moya Cazares-Sealy, and niece, Tiesha Mone’t King.
