Hubert Earl Carroll Jr.

On the afternoon of August 5, 2024, Hubert “Hank” Earl Carroll, Jr., passed away in the company of loved ones at Dell Seton Medical Center at the age of 53. Hank was born May 11, 1971, in Austin, Texas. He was married to Virginia “Gini” Cordell for 31 years. Hank was preceded in death by his father Hubert Earl Carroll, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Rita Barrera, sister Virginia “Ginny” Carroll, two daughters Christina “Hope” Woodrow and Dianna “Rose” Carroll, four grandchildren, and a loving extended family.

Hank was a friend to all he met and was ready to give the shirt off his back to those in need. No matter the circumstances, he would find a way to encourage and support others through challenging times, whether that was through sharing knowledge and experience or by offering a safe place to others. Sometimes that was through experience from the range of jobs he held, sometimes through shared interest in games, and others it was through community by hosting and sharing amazing barbecue. His warmth, jovial laugh, and genuine kindness will be missed by those who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Elgin on Tuesday, September 17, at 2:30pm.
