Howard Lloyd Eisenbeck

Howard Eisenbeck was born on November 6, 1930 in Elgin Texas to Eddie Eisenbeck Sr. and Leona Eisenbeck.  He passed away on March 29, 2023 at the age of 92.

On May 27, 1955 Howard married the love of his life Margie Morgan, also of Elgin where they lived on the family home place in   Elgin.

Howard served in the United States Army during the Korean war from November 22, 1952 to September 15, 1954.

After his service with the Army, he was employed at Modern Tile in Austin Texas.  After marrying and moving to Austin he worked at Central Freight as a diesel mechanic from 1957 to 1991 and retired with 34 years of service.

Howard’s hobbies were deer hunting, fishing, and working around his property.  He loved being outside, working in the yard, and gardening.  His favorite game was playing 42 dominoes with his best friends and enjoying his coffee every morning watching the deer.  Howard loved his four wheeler and couldn’t wait for the mailman to come so he could go for a ride.

Back a few years ago he decided to sell his cattle and instead sell hay.  He loved growing a vegetable garden and was so excited to get those watermelon seeds in the ground so he could watch his great granddaughter Kenna pick them.

Everyone loved Howard: always smiling and happy.  He never met a stranger he couldn’t talk to.  He was the most loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Howard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margie Eisenbeck, daughter Wanda Kurio and husband Cliff; grandson Peyton Kurio and his wife Julie; great granddaughter Kenna Kurio; and nephews Edwin Eisenbeck and Roger Wayne Eisenbeck Jr.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Eisenbeck Sr., mother Leona Eisenbeck, brother and sister in law Eddie Eisenbeck Jr. and Jewel; nephew Roger Wayne Eisenbeck Sr., and numerous uncles and aunts.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 4, 2023 with Celebration of Life Services to follow starting at 11:00 a.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 highway 95 North, Elgin, TX 78621.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Elgin, TX.

The family would like everyone to join them after the burial for refreshments and time to share their stories and remembrances of Howard at the Elgin Evangelical Free Church at 1209 North Avenue C, Elgin, TX 78621.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund can be made to the Elgin Evangelical Free Church or your favorite organization.
