Henry Vernon Evans Jr.

Vernon Evans, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on October 11, 2024, after a brief battle with Lung Cancer. His family supported him during his battle and surrounded him as he departed this earth.

Vernon was born in Baytown, Texas, on February 19, 1968, to Carrie Beggs. He graduated from Bastrop High School and served in the National Guard. He lived on the Texas coast for a time where he worked on the fishing boats, which he loved before moving to Cotter, Arkansas, then finally moving back to Texas to be closer to family.

Vernon is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Evans; his parents, Carrie and Richard Beggs; his three children, Rhiannon Green, Patrick Evans, and Rose Evans; his sisters, Suzy Evans, Tara Adelman and her husband, Barry, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Vernon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jewell Gregg and Bill Gregg; his aunt, Susan Stahura and her husband, Rick Stahura, and uncle, Robert Gregg, Sr.

Vernon was a loving son, husband and father and touched the lives of those he came in contact with. He was a kind and caring man and will be missed dearly by his family, friends and all those who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, October 17,2024, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 HWY 95 N, Elgin, Texas 78621.
