Harold James Sylvester

Harold James Sylvester, age 77 of Elgin, Texas passed away on May 4, 2024.  He was born on August 26, 1946, in Travis County Texas.

He is preceded in death by his wife Georgia Sylvester, his parents Ernest and Irene Sylvester, one brother, Leslie Sylvester, and one sister, Lorene Beshears, as well as his stepson Charlie Charest.

Harold was a proud marine, where he served from 1966-1968.  He was a carpenter by trade and could build anything.

He is survived by his three children and two stepchildren: Daughter Sheri and husband Curtis Bucanek, son Troy and wife Beth Sylvester, daughter Tracy and husband Jimmy Riley, stepdaughter Charlene and husband Brad Pierson, and stepson Chip Charest.

He had 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren as well as 1 great great grandchild.

Harold enjoyed sitting in the shop listening to old classic country music, playing pool, and rolling high dice.  He also liked taking his car for a spin and going fast.  When he was relaxing you could find him watching old westerns or Perry Mason on TV.  What he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, beginning at 10:30 a.m., at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home chapel.
