Gregory Alan Bushn

Gregory Allen Bushn, age 62, of Elgin, TX passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2019.  Greg was born on April 26, 1956 in Rankin, TX.   Greg was preceded in death by his parents, John Bushn and Annabelle Gillis.  He is survived by his step-father, Bob Gillis; brother, Bob Bushn (Eliza); brother, Ken Bushn (Sharon Sturgeon); step-sister, Sandi Gillis and step-sister Laura Johns (Mark).  He is also survived by many nephews and nieces along with many, many dear friends.

Greg attended school in Austin; however, during his Junior year, his family moved to Round Rock where he graduated from Round Rock High School.  He spent most of his summers and weekends with his “Pap”, Kenny Speckels, and his “Gram”, Eva Speckels, fishing in their pond or spending time with the many friends he had.   After moving around a bit in the Round Rock and Coupland area, he ended up settling in Elgin, TX.

Greg retired in December 2018 from Manville Water after 21 years of service.  After retirement, Greg helped his friend Steve Cornell with farming.  Greg, affectionately known as “Fireball”, loved spending time with his close-knit group of friends, barbequing, fishing, hunting and playing pool.

Many thanks to all who helped Greg on the day he passed including the EMS staff, hospital staff at Baylor Scott &White in Taylor and his host of friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
