Ginger Gayle "Battles" Yount, 67 of Elgin Texas left her earthly home and entered into her heavenly home on September 21, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 25th, 1953, in Austin Texas to John Henry (Cotton) Battles, Jr. and Margret Ruth Battles.
Ginger grew up in Austin, Texas and she loved gospel music and attended Lost Pines Cowboy Church in Elgin Texas. Ginger also followed several pasters online. She also liked to play games and color pictures on her laptop and her phone. She also loved watching her favorite TV shows like the Brady Bunch, Chip's and many more.
Ginger was a huge fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. In her free time, she loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and her great grandchild.
Ginger is survived by her children, Cliffton and wife, Brandi Battles, Jennifer and husband, Billy Thurman, Jr., and Theresa and husband, Jimmy Hernandez, all of Elgin Texas, three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way, and her brother, John Henry and wife, Diane Battles, of Bertram, Texas.
Ginger was preceded in death by her husband, John (Big John) Yount, her parents John Henry (Cotton), Jr. and Margret Ruth Battles, and her brother, Martin Battles.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00 PM at Lost Pines Cowboy Church in Elgin, Texas.
