George Dennis Lillie

George Dennis Lillie, age 75, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on July 21, 2022.

George was born on February 25, 1947, in Compton, California to George and Betty Blake (Schmidt) Lillie. He attended Compton High School and graduated from UCLA with an Associate degree. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Opal Clarene (King) Lillie. They were married for 54 years until her passing on February 1, 2022.

Back in the day, George worked as the head of sales for BP. He then retired to help raise a village. George liked working on projects around the house that involved fixing any and everything. He enjoyed attending sporting events that his family members were involved in. Most importantly, he loved playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

George was a loving Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa. He worked hard to provide his family with everything. He taught his family all valuable lessons and always put others before himself. He was always his family’s #1 fan, no matter what.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Opal Lillie, parents, George and Betty, and brother, David Lillie.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Carter (Dave), grandson, Josh Lillie, granddaughters, Ashley O’Brien (Walter) and Amber, great grandchildren, Damien, Dannie, Autumn, and Olivia, brother, Larry Lillie, and sister, Pattie Lillie Quagliani.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Elgin.
