Geraldine “Jeri” Gruetzner, 85, fell asleep in Jesus and entered eternal life with God in Heaven on April 9, 2020. She was born in Austin, Texas on January 10, 1935 to Eugene and Claudia Miller. She was reborn into God’s Kingdom through Holy Baptism in her youth and later confirmed her Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas.

Jeri was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elgin, where her faith was nourished by the Word of God and the Lord’s Supper. Jeri served the congregation by playing the organ for Divine Services and wedding and funeral services. She was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and a volunteer for Lutheran Braille Workers.
Jeri wrote articles for the Elgin Courier, including recipes, and reports about school board and city council meetings. She loved cooking, flowers, bird watching and painting hill country landscapes.
