Freddy Loveday Sr. born to Gilford and Fern Loveday in Sevierville, Tennessee died at 72 years of age in Elgin, Texas on April 8, 2020. He was a member of the Sevier County High School Football Team and Future Farmers of America. He enjoyed wrestling, playing baseball, horseback riding, and swimming. He also enjoyed watching the Lady Longhorns play basketball and both Texas (orange) and Tennessee (burnt orange) play football. He was a proud member of the local Moose Lodge, while he lived and worked in Austin. His education consisted of a GED, trade school, and some college. He was a Key Club speaker after attending Camp Gary Job Corp. to become an Electrician. Freddy was formerly employed by the City of Austin for 30+ years and retired from Holly Street Power Plant as a Safety Specialist Senior.
Freddy is survived by his siblings Jack Nelson (Kay), Ronnie Loveday, Wilma Dockery (Billy), Brenda Wilkins (Dave), & Shelby Watson; spouse Teresa Loveday of 30+ years; children Freddy Jr. and Bobby Loveday (Monica), Ricky Good, & Allona Fortenberry (Carl Sr.); grandchildren Moriah Tillman, Hailey, Benjamin, Alissa, John, and Braelyn Loveday, Jaileigh and Dixie Good, & Carl Jr. and Theodore Fortenberry; great-grandchildren Hayden and Pedro Castro, Joyce Leininger, & Benjamin Loveday II. Freddy is predeceased by his parents Gilford and Fern Loveday; siblings Bobby Shultz (Gail), Frances Swan (Dave), Bryan Loveday & brother-in-law Mike Watson; children Jeanette & Baby Loveday; & grandson Maximilian Loveday.
In lieu of flowers, donate to one of Freddy’s favorite charities for children or choose one of your own. His favorite charities to support were: Boys Town, Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, Make-A-Wish, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A Private Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 16, 2020. The Family has requested services be Live Streamed via Providence-Jones Family Facebook page.
